Distilled Water, Is It Beneficial?

Distilled Water Overview

A quick search using your favorite web browser will leave your head spinning on distilled water.  Some claim this water to be the fountain of youth and that any disease can be cured by distilled water fasting.  Others warn against the use of this water claiming that the water is too “pure” and will leach beneficial minerals from the body.

If your unfamiliar with distilled water it is pretty straight forward.  Distilled water is water that has been boiled and the steam produced by the boiled water is then gathered and stored into a clean glass container.  It is often referred to as “pure water” because it has had all of its impurities removed, as well as its minerals. Distillation is the only method I am aware of that can remove Fluoride from your drinking water.

Health Movement And Distilled Water

Some health guru’s claim that you should only drink distilled water because it helps remove inorganic material and heavy metals from the body.  You may be asking how distilled water is able to do this and here’s the reason; Distilled water wants to be mineralized because Distilled water is void of minerals. When this water enters your system, it bonds to all the inorganic and heavy metals in your body.  In turn, its a great detox tool for anyone trying to rid disease.

Sounds great, right?  There is no doubt that distilled water can help aid the body in detoxification.  However, be cautious, it will also remove organic material and important mineral’s from the body.  I personally would not drink distilled water for more than week before switching back to a quality spring water source.  I’ve done only distilled water before as my main source of fluid intake and after about a week I began to pour buckets of sweat and experienced massive headaches.  I would literally begin to sweat doing the easiest of activities.

Now, some will claim that this is all part of the detoxification process but I’m not sold on that.  After about an hour of ending the week long distilled water trial and replacing it with spring water all my symptoms went away.  I do believe distilled water has its place but I don’t recommend it for your main fluid intake. However, if you must drink distilled water I suggest re-mineralizing it with your own minerals.  Don’t be afraid to experiment! My experience may be different than the one you may have.

What’s In Your Water?

Below I’ve posted a couple of pictures of what my distiller looks like after a week…I still use the distiller for other applications such as cooking, cleaning, etc.
