Why We Need Minerals More Than Ever In Today’s World

The Importance of Minerals in Diet

Little is said about the importance of minerals and their role in human health.  However, they are indeed the building blocks of the human body.  Unfortunately, we are no longer getting the necessary minerals that are mandatory for both physical and mental development.  A cup of spinach 50 years ago contained 50% more magnesium then spinach does today. If your unaware, magnesium is responsible for over 300 metabolic functions!  Nervous disorders, depression, cramping, headaches, are all signs of magnesium deficiency.  In fact, it’s estimated that over 80% of the US population is deficient in this key mineral!  Sadly, magnesium is just one of the many minerals we are not getting enough of.  Silica, as well as potassium, are two other key minerals responsible for proper human function

The mass mineral deficiency seen throughout the US is striking.  However, it all goes back to our soil. Our soils do not contain the necessary microorganisms, fulvic acids, and rock minerals;  we will discuss the importance of these later.  That being said, food being produced on the same land year after year has left the soils utterly depleted and overworked.  As a result, the plants do not have access to the necessary minerals to stay healthy.  Furthermore, unhealthy plants need pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, etc. to keep them safe from disease. With that said, plants are more then capable of defending themselves from such things when they are given the proper minerals.

The Importance of Microorganisms in the Soil

If soil is healthy, it will contain microorganisms.  In fact, these microorganisms are a source of B12.  B12 is vital for those on a vegan diet; as it is almost impossible to obtain from plant sources only.  We rarely consume these microorganisms however due to our over sterilized society.  Eating small amounts of dirt is not only beneficial, but mandatory for gut health.  Many companies are even starting to make a soil based probiotic.  This is because the microorganisms found in dirt are extremely “hardy,” and are able to make their way into our gut unlike many probiotics on the market today.  Many have healed “incurable” gut issues by incorporating small amounts of dirt into their diet.

As well as being extremely beneficial to our gut, these microorganisms produce a phenol called fulvic acid.  Fulvic acid is responsible for chelating the rock minerals found in the soil.  Plants can make no use of the rock minerals in the soil.  They are dependent on the fulvic acid to chelate the minerals for them.  Once chelated, the plants can then uptake these minerals and put them to use.  These minerals are then converted to organic minerals by the plants.  Organic minerals are the most bio-available and most recognizable to the human body. Without these microorganisms, plants will not contain adequate amounts of organic minerals.  Do you see now how lack of microorganisms is leading to mineral deficiency?

Unfortunately, modern farming practices will not change due to the love of money over health.  Adding back in microorganisms and rock minerals takes time, and time is money;  ignorance is bliss.  However, there are some ways you can start adding the necessary minerals crucial for health back into your diet.  If you haven’t done so already, check out my article(s); Shilajit: An Ancient Ayurveda Longevity Secret AND Fulvic Acid For Longevity and Regeneration.  Read these articles, and then come back.

The Three Key Minerals To Focus On:

Silica

In my opinion, silica is the most important mineral for reversing degenerative disease.  In fact, more and more research shows that silica is more beneficial at reversing osteoporosis; not calcium.  It literally increases our bone mass and density to its full potential. It also aids in the formation of skin, hair, and nails.  Check out my video(s) to learn how to increase your Silica content naturally:  Natural Hair and Nail Growth! Silica – Horsetail

Magnesium

Magnesium, as mentioned before is responsible for over 300 metabolic functions.  Calcium and Magnesium need each other in order to work properly.  In order to utilize calcium, magnesium is needed to assimilate the mineral and vice versa.  The problem is too much calcium is being consumed in today’s diet.  The result is a depleted magnesium levels because all the magnesium is being used to assimilate the calcium.  The best and most economical way to bring magnesium levels back up in the body is using an oil.  This means rubbing a magnesium chloride brine on your skin each day.  The skin is the largest organ found on the human body.  It has the ability to absorb and push substances into the blood stream very effectively; good or bad. This is why transdermal application of magnesium is so effective. Check the link below for more info.

Potassium

Potassium is vital for adrenal health.  This mineral, as well as vitamin c, become depleted while under heavy amounts of stress.  You need to replace these minerals for healthy adrenal function.  If you’re unaware the adrenal glands are the manufacturing house of key hormones that are needed for well being.  As a rule of thumb, if it’s green, it has a lot of potassium!  That means load up on Swiss Chard, Red Leaf Lettuce, Romaine, Spinach, Avocados, and Coconut Water from green coconuts.

Eating Small Amounts of Dirt to Increase Mineral Content and Aid Gut Health?

A lesser talked about way to boost mineral intake is eating small amounts of dirt.  As mentioned before, dirt contains beneficial microorganisms that are excellent at regenerating gut health.  Also, if the dirt contains microorganisms, you will be getting small amounts of fulvic acid.  And if it contains fulvic acid, you will get small amounts of chelated minerals.  These chelated minerals are recognized and utilized by the human body.  However, not as well as organic minerals, such as those found in plants who performed the conversion from chelated rock state to organic.  They are still usable non the less.
